Social Media Policy
Social Media Acceptable Use Policy
The Australian Baseball Alumni welcomes all comments on social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter. We want to hear from members of the baseball community what they love about the sport, our athletes, our officials, our volunteers and our collective achievements.
We seek to encourage ABA members to positively engage with like-minded baseball people and to nurture strong, ongoing personal and organisational relationships through online interaction.
Members are invited to express views, comments, ideas and insights on the entire range of baseball-related matters. Members are welcome to offer constructive suggestions as to how we might improve our communication offerings and our service to ABA membership.
At the same time, the association expects that courtesy and respect to others should be shown. Individuals must not use our social media channels to abuse others, expose others to offensive or inappropriate content, post nuisance advertising material or to pursue any illegal or dubious practice. While moderators will oversee our online presence to ensure that these standards are maintained, we expect that ABA social media interaction will be largely self-regulating.
When using our social media channels, please ensure that you:
Protect your personal privacy and that of others by not including personal information about yourself or others in any posts that you make (for example, email addresses, private addresses or phone numbers);
Represent your own views and not impersonate or falsely represent any other person;

Do not make defamatory or libellous comments;

The ABA Committee of Management reserves the right to enforce this Acceptable Use Policy at its discretion. The Committee of Management or its authorised officers may remove or request removal of any posted messages that it considers to be in breach of this Policy. The ABA Committee of Management also reserves the right to investigate any posted messages that are against this Policy and level appropriate penalties if needed - including membership suspensions or cancellations.
