Promising career curtailed by injury

Born in South Australia in 1978, Luke Prokopec was a right-armed pitcher who made it all the way to the big leagues, with stints at Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays.

After making his MLB debut in 2000, his nascent professional career was sadly cut short as he was forced to endure crippling arm injuries that forced his retirement from the highest level in 2002.

Now dedicated to giving back to the sport at developmental level – like so many of our topline players – Luke Prokopec spoke with Alumni Chairman Brett Ward in a refreshing interview that addressed the challenges, the trials and tribulations of professional baseball.
