20 January 2018

UPDATE:   Australia has qualified for the 2018 Under 15 World Cup by beating New Zealand in the finals series this afternoon. Gaining a massive early break, the Australians  were never really threatened in a 12-4 Game One win, while Game Two developed into a tight pitching and defensive contest that saw scores deadlocked going into extra innings, when Australia posted a six-spot against a gallant opponent that fought out the contest strongly but was unable to peg back an Aussie outfit that emerged an 11-6 winner.

UPDATE (19 January 2018):   Australia has begun the series in dominating fashion, with a massive first innings that set our team up for a 15-0 win over New Zealand in the opening round. More details to come. For live streaming and news,  CLICK HERE.

An Australian squad is currently in New Zealand on a vital mission to qualify for the Under 15 World Cup scheduled to be held in Panama during August this year. Competing against sides from Fiji, New Caledonia and New Zealand, our players will be confident of a bold showing that will help accumulate further national ranking points should they make it through to the Panama tournament.

The Oceania Qualifier will commence on Thursday 18 January, with a best of three championship series to be played after an initial Round Robin determines team rankings.

All games will be seven innings or two hours and fifteen minutes, with the fifteen-run rule after three and ten-run rule after five innings.

Each of the four teams will play each other once. Third and fourth after the initial round will play off for bronze, while the first and second seeds will meet in a best of three championship series scheduled for Saturday 20 January and Sunday 21 January.

Australian Baseball Alumni will seek to stay in touch with our squad’s progress and provide links to live scoring and online streaming.

Australia will meet New Caledonia in its first game, starting at 10.00 AM New Zealand time (8.00 AM AEDST) on Thursday 18 January.
