One of Australia’s most successful baseball imports, Trent Oeltjen announced his retirement at the end of the 2014/15 ABL season. Trent led the Blue Sox to a tight finish in the finals and after a hard fought effort against the Perth Heat, the Blue Sox finished the season in third place.

 

To honor Trent’s achievements in the game and his legacy both here and overseas, the Blue Sox held ‘Trent Oeltjen Day’ throughout the last series of the regular series. As part of the ceremony Trent was honored on field in front of the fans that had grown to love the way he played over the years and was presented with some parting gifts.

 

Here’s your chance to won a unique piece of memorabilia. Trent was presented with and has kindly donated to the Australia Baseball Alumni a signed base by the 2014/15 Sydney Blue Sox team. The base was used throughout the inaugural ABL season and is branded to reflect this.
